AWARDS, DISTINCTIONS & FELLOWSHIPS
In 2019 I have been awarded with: a) the National Conservation Award César Gómez Campo, awarded by SEBICOP (Spanish Society of Plant Conservation Biology) to the ´best work of the 2017-2018 biennium´ and b) Postdoctoral Fellow Award For Exceptional Achievement, by the Vice-Rector of Stellenbosch University.
I have a particular interest in cutting-edge analytical methods and I use state of the art bio/phylogeographic reconstruction approaches. For this, I have developed innovative biogeographic and population-level approaches, which have resulted in two awards.
I have a passion for scientific outreach and I am highly committed with teaching. I have written dozens of articles in magazines and blogs, for which I have received two awards.
